The work of the plant began with the design of the first tractors of MTZ 1 and MTZ 2 in 1948. Serial production of models started in 1953, followed by modernization and continuous development of new brands of wheeled tractors.
In the period from 1952 to 1962, the MTZ 1, MTZ 2, MTZ 5 and MTZ 7 with all-wheel drive of the wheels were developed and released into a series of stamps, the MTZ 1.
In 1962, the plant began the release of the new model of the MTZ 50 tractor equipped with a 55 horsepower engine with a 55 horsepower and in 1964 MTZ 52 with the front and rear axle drive. In the period since 1974, the wheel model of the MTZ 50 tractor became one of the most massive brands in the national economy of the USSR, underwent many improvements and was produced until 1985.
At the same time, in 1974, cars of the new brand- MTZ 80 and an all-wheel drive modification of MTZ 82 with a power unit D 240 with a capacity of 75-80 litres began to be produced from the production line of the Minsk Tractor Plant. p., which are produced until today and have become one of the most massively produced tractor models in the world.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the enterprise adapted to the realities of a market economy and did not lose its liquidity. The development and release of new modifications to tractors made it possible to respond flexibly to market requests. The line of machine models from the lowest power to large energy-intensive machines satisfies the requirements of consumers of all categories. Currently, the production holding of MTZ provides from 8 to 10% of the global volume of tractors.
The MTZ brand mini-tractor is represented by three all-wheel-drive models. The machines are equipped with Japanese gasoline and a four-stroke air-cooled engine and have a full range of technical functions for hanging and driving from VOM equipment when performing agricultural and utilities.
Machines with low power include traction class 0.9. Demand for such equipment is growing annually, taking into account the needs of the segment of small and medium-sized businesses and the development of new sales markets. Attention to the requirements of the consumer and the improvement of the operational qualities of the machines of basic models MTZ 320 and MTZ 421 became the basis for the development of several modified brands and designing new tractors with a capacity of 30 to 50 hp.
Machines of this traction class are the most popular in the national economy of the countries of the former Union, make up the most extensive line of the model range and successfully compete in the markets of long and neighbouring countries. The tractors are aggregated with various hanging equipment with a mechanical and hydraulic drive, ensuring the use of these models in the widest spectrum of work. The first technique of the above traction class MTZ 50 (52) became the basis for the release of a whole series of models.
MTZ 80-82 tractors from the beginning of their production, including their special modifications of the 80x MTZ 82n, to date have undergone some technical updates, including the installation of modernized engines D 242, D 243, D 245 and varieties of gearbox structures with constant gearing six and hydraulic control of the gears. The result of deep modernization of MTZ 80 (82) is the MTZ 100 brand tractor and MTZ 102, respectively, produced since 1984. The further expansion of the range of tractors of this class provided the ability to compete in foreign markets and meet world standards, given the development of technology.
