Sumitomo Excavators
Sumitomo excavators are produced by the Japanese company Sumitomo (S.H.I.) Construction Machinery Manaufacturing Co., Ltd. - an independent company that grew up from the department of construction equipment of the Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (S.H.I.) - manufacturer of a huge spectrum of high -tech industrial equipment, weapons (automatic rifle), sea and river vessels, steel structures, equipment for protecting the environment, molding machines for plastic, laser systems, particle accelerators, semiconductors, warehouse and construction equipment, etc. .
Sumitomo (S.H.I.) Construction Machinery Manoufacturing Co., Ltd. Sumitomo is also included in the Ceirez, one of the 8 largest corporate conglomerates in Japan, grouped around the Sumitomo Mitsui Bank banking group. The presence of almost all types of industry in the conglomerate of enterprises - including electronic, chemical, metallurgy - allows the corporation to close the production cycle of any technical products, which makes it possible to carry out through quality control at all stages of production.
The production of Sumitomo construction equipment began in 1963, when a technological alliance was formed between Sumitomo and a large American Link-Belt manufacturer. The first hydraulic excavator was released in 1967, and much later (in 2002), asphalt layers were added to the assortment. At the moment, 3 factories have been built for the production of hydraulic excavators: the main one in the prefecture of Tiba on the island of Honsu (Japan); factory and branch in China for deliveries to the Chinese market; Plant and branch in Indonesia for sales in the Southeast Asian market. In the history of the company there is also a period of cooperation with the English JCB (1991, entering the JCB brand to the European market, a plant in Niiham, closed in 1998). Deliveries of excavators for OEM-settlement with JCB were terminated in 1998 in favor of a similar agreement with the American company Case Corporation.
